About me

Hi! My name is Martin Huergo and I'm a Sound Designer with over 7 years of experience residing in Córdoba, Argentina.

I'm currently freelancing as a level 2 seller on Fiverr with over 400 projects from worldwide clients.

My main tools are Cubase and Pro Tools.

For Game Audio Implementation FMOD and Wwise.

Coming back to Argentina after living for almost 2 years as an exchange student in Germany I found myself in a position we all know so well where I had to choose what I wanted to do for a living and all I knew was I liked music and storytelling...

Education

La Metro and my beginnings as a sound designer.

When I started studying at this institution in 2015, I wasn't really sure what I would end up doing, I just knew that I loved music.

After 3 years of studying different areas of such as Recording, Sound Design, 5.1 Mix, Mastering, and more, along with 3 friends we had to make a final project to present before we graduated, and we chose to redesign 52 minutes of the famous movie Akira. Nothing prepared me for the absolute chaos this project would turn into...

As a student, I didn't really know what to do exactly since I never took on a sound design project such as this one, it is safe to say this project alone gave me and my friends enough headaches we can still laugh about.

In 2019 after a whole year of experimenting and honestly just tumbling around recordings, sound design techniques, and libraries we ended with a result we were so happy and proud of it simply marked my whole career, and I realized that I couldn't imagine being anything other than a Sound Designer.

If you are interested, you can check that project here!

Image Campus.

I've always been a huge videogames fan since that first Nintendo 64 my parents bought as a present for my 8th birthday with all the amazing titles such as Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Kazooie, etc...

So, once I settled as a Sound Designer and had a stable income doing linear designs, I figured it would be time to finally get a grip on implementation.

In 2022, I enrolled in a 4-month Game Audio course at Image Campus to improve my knowledge of tools like Fmod and Wwise for both Unity and Unreal. With my new skills, I collaborated with a friend on a game and successfully implemented all the necessary sounds into Unity using Fmod. This was a significant milestone for me, as it helped me better understand the common challenges that game developers face.

Feel free to check out the project I worked on here.
