A bit about the Game Audio Reel
(and the hidden power of one's voice)
(for sound effects)
Hi there! Thanks for reading, if you are interested here's a bit on how I worked on these clips.
God of War: Jörmundgandr. There is a reason I started with this specific clip and it was because getting the world serpent's voice to where I could finally say I was satisfied was a 2-week long process that had lots and lots of trial and error. Luckily there was a video on this creature's voice creation by Mike Niederquell (bow) Sound Design Lead in God of War, where he explains that he used Tuvan throat singing to achieve this sort of massive didgeridoo-like voice, along with kitten purrs, beluga whales and other animals, so I layered a professional Tuvan singer from Youtube with my own amateurish one saying the actual words and this was the result (lots of pitch shifting involved).
Ori and the Will of the Wisps: Sand Worm. The challenge I had for this clip was that I started to rely solely on my own voice to do a few of these sounds. The monster biting were all sounds that came directly from my face actually and since I already had some experience with Jörmungandr's voice it all came down to pitch and lower-frequency plugins: Uhbik-G, Lowerender, UltraPitchShifter, Scheps Parallel Particles... The monster growl is a mix of alligator growls and lion roars. The magical whooshing sounds were also made with my voice and modulated through ValhallaSpaceModulator.
Celeste: 8-bit styles. The feather in this clip was a mix of 2 FM8 synths, one for the pad and a fast arpeggiated click for the particles flying off, as well as a Straylight layer from Kontakt. For the laser, I modulated my voice (ValhallaSpaceModulator) with a bit crusher (Krush) to give it the 8-bit feel. The bouncer was a cash register bell with delay and tremolo. The last part when you hit the baddie was an FM8 preset with pitch automation along with glass-breaking sounds with reverb.
Horizon Forbbiden West: Tremortusk. The sounds of the big mecha elephant were made with elephant sounds (who would have guessed) and an orc from a library modulated through Valhalla, Scheps, and pitch-shifted with Uhbik-G, as well as processing the dynamics with OTT (discovered this one fairly recently and fell in love immediately) and tremolo.
Somerville: Aliens & french horns For this one, I really wanted to make a recreation again, so I reached out to 2 of the sound designers Matteo Cerquone and Adi Keltsh for a bit of insight into how the original horn-like sounds were made. To my surprise, they both answered! Matteo was the one in charge of that specific sound but there was no definitive answer on that front since they were made a long time ago and he couldn't exactly recall, but he was super kind and open to sharing a few of the processes on other alien-like sounds. Adi had left the team by the time they got into the horn sounds, but he was super open to sharing all of the tools and plugins (its was an extensive list) he used for the more granular elements. So, with no real answer on how the horn sounds were made, I just went "well, let's just put a horn ensemble and see what happens", and well, it worked! Overthinking things might be a bit counterproductive sometimes. This layered with Straylight and a few subsonic hits did the trick and over exceeded my expectations.
To fit the presentation format, I trimmed down the reel. However, if you're interested in seeing more, you can check it out here.

As a Game Sound Designer, I have a passion for Indie and AAA games alike.
Both types of games offer unique challenges and opportunities, and I find enjoyment in exploring the diverse possibilities each presents. Regardless of the budget, what actually drives me to work on games is the opportunity to collaborate with diverse artistic disciplines and contribute to telling an immersive and engaging story.
To give you an idea of my personal preferences, I'd like to share some of my favorite games with you!

A few projects I worked on

I have developed my own game as well!
Along with a friend, we developed our own Pixel Art horror game called Family Night about a child being invited into a pajama party and things taking a bit of a turn.
While my friend took care of the programming side of things, I did the art, animation, sound, and music. A
